Dr. Barham Abu Dayyeh

Dr. Barham Abu Dayyeh is a Professor of Medicine and serves as the Executive Director and Associate Dean for Innovation at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA where he leads institution-wide initiatives to accelerate transformative technologies in interventional gastroenterology and minimally invasive therapeutics. He also serves as Director of Interventional Gastroenterology and Director of System Integration for Advanced Endoscopy, overseeing the development of high-value service lines and the integration of robotics, advanced energy platforms, and regenerative therapies to elevate the standard of patient care.

A globally recognized innovator, Dr. Abu Dayyeh has pioneered multiple endoscopic procedures and transformative medical technologies. His work spans numerous patents, national and international innovation awards, and leadership of pivotal clinical trials that have shaped modern treatment paradigms for metabolic disease and advanced gastrointestinal disorders. He has authored more than 400 peer-reviewed publications and his contributions have been recognized with prestigious honors, including the Star of Science Award at the World Science Forum and the Surgical Innovator Award from the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

Before joining Cedars-Sinai, Dr. Abu Dayyeh was Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, where he directed the Advanced Endoscopy Program and served in business development leadership and innovation strategy. He completed medical training at Brown University, followed by residency and fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, and earned a Master of Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health.
